It sounds more like they have an issue, not you. I don't think you need to change what you are doing. You've tried to communicate, their response is strange. You've already learned the job and it's a job that gives you what you need. I'd say just see how it goes over time. Maybe there isn't a lot of turnover there and they just aren't sure how to relate to new employees.
