((((((( always )))))))
Sounds like one thing is running into another with you and it's all bringing on this anxiety and thoughts that are difficult for you.
Most antidepressants as Paxil take 4 to 6 weeks to build up in your system to be affective. The xanax in the meantime is an anti anxiety medication that will work immediately after you take it (within 10-15 minutes most times). Paxil also has an anti anxiety affect.
I know those anxiety attacks are horrid to go through. The xanax should help tremendously and when the paxil kicks in hopefully you won't need the xanax anymore. Most anti anxiety meds can be habit forming, so thats probably why the doc doesn't want you on them for too long.
I'm sorry your husband is not being supportive. I'm sure its a terrible blow to you. Is it possible that he too is feeling the loss and not dealing well with it? It's hard for men to talk about such things sometimes and they tend to bottle it up and it comes out in other ways. Remember that men think of themselves as "fixers" and when they can't fix a problem, it's very frustrating to them.
I don't know if thats the case with your husband or not, but I just wanted to give you something to think about.
I do hope the meds help you with your anxiety and depression soon. Try to remember to breathe deeply and slowly.....it helps clear the body and mind and gives you something to concentrate on aside from the atttack. Wishing you well with the echo too!
Take good care!
