I really hate this happened to you. It’s been a while ago but I lost my childhood dog.
I loved her to death. It hurt like heck when she passed. My mom got another dog of the same breed. It took time but we still do miss her. The hurt in the heart will ease with time.
Try to keep busy. Use coping skills and self-care.
