I guess I think...
That the basic idea is that one should 'deal with them' by trying to
1) Understand their perspective (figure out what they really are saying / thinking)
2) Validate the inherant grain of wisdom in their perspective.
I'd be surprised if the alter really was trying to deny that the body meets dx criteria for DID (unless the alter is in an intense emotional state in which case they might be trying to express / communicate emotion rather than thoughts at any rate).
So... What is the alter trying to say?
