I'm 17, and a college freshman. I'm interested in working in the dining hall close to where I live. The job itself seems easy, and everyone seems so nice to each other. I'm most afraid for the interview I guess. I was never involved in high school, nor am I now, thought I do want to be more involved next semester. But that's the thing.
I'm not sure whether I should wait until the summer or not. Next semester I want to start volunteering at 2 organizations (LGBT resource center and human society close by), so that could build my resume up. However, I'm barely able to afford my needs with what my family gives me.
I know a common question is "tell me about yourself" and it should be professional rather than personal, but I don't know what to say if I have no experience! Or when they ask "name a time you were in a difficult situation" (or some variation. I never left the house in high school so I can't think of anything.
What do you think? Wait? Figure some answer out without experience???

I really want to learn how to be independent and I think a job would be good for me.. maybe I'm pushing myself too much. I'm already kind of mentally unstable at the moment. :/ (depression, anxiety issues, physical health aka weight problems, etc)
