I like telos, but since it's not pragmatic, I'd go with conclusion or ending. Related concepts could be planned conclusion, unplanned conclusion, unilateral conclusion, mutual conclusion, or one-party conclusions.
Termination is a loaded word. It also seems to be more of a legal term than clinical term. Some of the other suggestions are crafty, but they won't necessarily work for unilaterial or unplanned endings.
