Termination reminds me of losing a job... I guess from the point of view of the therapist, it is

I use the word sometimes for therapy just because it is a common buzz word, but I don't like it because for me it sounds too dramatic, and my "terminations" did not feel particularly dramatic, I just stopped going without any process or closure, and I also kept in touch with the Ts via email for a while and stopped that when I was no longer interested. One of my Ts tried to make it pretty dramatic though both times when I stopped going to him. I prefer something more ordinary for it like ending, stopping or quitting. Maybe if I felt that I achieved some dramatic change/growth due to therapy, I would like to say "completed".
