The dogs are exhausted from having company over. They have a rough life getting petted by strangers (to them - not me - the strangers petting the dogs are my friends), being put outside during the meal because the younger one is not emotionally mature enough to sit quietly while the humans eat, getting walked in the park, and dinner with a tiny spoonful of gravy on it. And now they are snoring.
