You mean like actually going out to a friends house or something and actually interacting with them?
Sheesh, back in my day, we actually picked up the phone (house phone) and phoned someone if we wanted to meet. (and I'm only 40-something, lol).
When I was at this restaurant once last year, I was really surprised and almost couldn't believe when I saw a table full of teenagers, all with their smartphones out and texting or whatever. And I don't think they said a word to each other the whole time I was there.
There is no substitute for real face-to-face human interaction. But I agree, the internet has opened the way to meeting people from all over the world though. I've met some pretty interesting people myself.
