I did an essay on scarification (and body modification) for an essay two years ago... it's interesting.

Personally, if people want to do that to themselves (like tattoos) then I'm okay with it - just not for me. But also, you have to look at your motivation for doing it - some people might undergo a tattoo (or scarification) to feel the pain which would make it like SIng... just not using your own hand.

Have you talked this over with anyone who might give you more information, or do you have any friends who have done this?
