Often times psychotherapy can bring up stuff that is triggering and hard to deal with depending on what you've been through in the past. It's up to the therapist to give you enough coping strategies to cope with it. A year in therapy isn't very long. Please communicate with your therapist and let them know that you need to slow down and need more coping strategies.
