A little story: when I was a kid, I had to wear a uniform. It was a jumper and blouse. Hear in the northeast US it can get very cold below 32F. I hated tights and would not wear them. My mom finally backed off and I just wore knee socks regardless of the weather. I probably froze, but didn't die. After a while it just becomes a power struggle between you and your kids. For the record, I stilll hate tights or pantyhose.
