I often find it very hard to get out of a mental state once I'm in it. I can't "pull myself up by my own bootstraps", because it's nearly impossible for me to channel my thoughts any other way than through that mindset.
Mostly that's the case for me with negative/depressed moods. So I completely know what you're talking about. If I would feel a lot better all of a sudden I think I would be anxious of returning to a more cloudy vision as well.
