I've always wondered, what causes us, anyone for that matter, to get emotional over certain kinds of music? There are certain kinds of music, depending on what mood I am in, that makes me feel emotional. Most of the songs that make me feel that way at times are slower songs and worship songs. If I am in a good mood, they have little effect on me and I will just appreciate the song for what it is and love it as always. But if I am feeling depressed or upset about something, I can listen to the same songs I've heard thousands of times before and it can make me emotional.

Has anyone have this happen? What causes us to get emotional over songs, especially songs that only make us emotional sometimes and other times, nothing at all? What kinds of songs make you emotional the most, whether it is all the time or only sometimes? I just found this to be an interesting topic and wanted to hear what everyone had to say about it. Music can be very powerful and can sometimes help us release our emotions at times, but I've wondered how that can only happen sometimes and other times it doesn't.
