Yes, you are absolutely right. I also listen to songs that remind me of the past. For example, I used to be very involved in a Christian worship club during college and we would always have worship songs. Now at times when I hear them, they make me emotional since it is a reminder of past memories. Same for hearing songs from church services since I helped out a lot there as well. Same for listening to music that reminds me of people and memories with them and of them in the past. Sometimes I can listen without getting emotional but other times I do. Basically it can make me feel extremely nostalgic. I totally agree with you. Songs I relate to can also have the same effect at times too.
