When my mum was alive she would breed budgies and show them. Behind the bedroom where my sister and I slept there were several large aviaries. When the sun was up they were chirping away. It got to a point she maxed out around the 300 budgie mark.

They loved their milk thistles. I walked the beaches after a windy storm to pick up the cuttle fish shells so they had something to trim their beaks on.

They do make great pets and are easy to train. The white and blue ones are my favourite. Do you want yours to talk? I had a pet one called Pepi.
