How we dream reminds of how we picture the world with our eyes closed. Most then have color but maybe not lot of details. Or with more details. Depending on how well you can see with your inner eye.
I basically cannot see reality with my inner eye despite being a visual thinker. I see parts but I have a hard time imagining a full image. And to boot I've been an artist as well and that worked fine.
So you can be a visual thinker and suck at making inner pictures... weird.
But anyway, if you can make a colored picture in your mind you can dream in color. Most people can do both so if there is a normal, this is the normal.
Me I only dream in whatever environment is needed. If a full forest is needed I see that. But if only smaller parts are needed my mind will not paint a too complex picture. Also I AM indeed a black and white dreamer and the only one I know.
I hardly think in color. I didn't upgrade to my own color TV before say 2000 or so. But it wasn't black and white TV that caused by black and white dreams cuz I watched at other people's places too, and movies. It was just that color didn't mean anything to me and the storyline, I didn't feel that I missed anything.
When I do art, it is in color.
The mind can be strange.
