Has he been diagnosed as schizophrenic? And did you wake up to him climbing on your son or you? It's hard to understand your post with no punctuation.

Is he on meds? Are you his wife or his girlfriend? Your title says girlfriend but your post says he's your husband? If you're his wife, can you have him committed to the hospital to get some help?

I reiterate what LiteraryLark said. Everyone on this site has a mental illness of some kind, and many are living with schizophrenia. They are not all dangerous. In fact, statistics show that people suffering from mental illness are more likely to be victims than abusers.
