Hi all,
So a member who was offering me support discovered a way within the PC system to send me a personal email, NOT A PM, an email to my personal email address, which I thought was completely private.
Check your settings. Because under options, there are two boxes that give administrators the ability to email you and regular members the ability to email you. And the email doesn't just go through PC, they give out your PERSONAL email address when they do so. I think it's a default setting because I would never have checked that box.
If you have someone on ignore, or have your settings to only allow PMs from friends or contacts, this could override that because someone whom you have blocked could contact you through this route.
If you are trying to remain anonymous, please go check your profile settings and make sure they are completely locked down.
I appreciate the member's offer of support. They weren't being harassing or anything, but just the fact that they were able to send something to my personal email address and discover my real name is EXTREMELY upsetting.
