You call her a roommate, not even a friend. I don't think you owe her anything. You say the counselor "was" paying half the rent. Maybe I am mean but if she can't come up with half the bills, then she would have to go and no, it is not your job to entertain her. She is responsible for her own life. Tell her counselor to keep her occupied and entertained.
