I don't think my therapist is a hugging type therapist, although I have never asked. I don't really want to hug her, probably because I have some stuff around hugging and being touched. But I find the idea less appalling than I once did. She's really good at that "hugging from across the room" thing, which feels good to me and happens without the awkwardness of actually hugging her.
ETA: My T and I are both female. I am gay and she is not, if that matters for your poll.
