There is a book that is half joking and half serious called 'Pooh and the Ancient Philosophers'. Pooh is meant to be Socrates. The search for honey (wisdom). The profession of ignorance (he keeps saying he is a bear of Very Little Brain).

Eeyore... Is thought to be an expression of the Stoic tradition. Here is a story about a stoic.

Someone or other (sorry - I forget his name - maybe Alexander) lived in a barrel. He was there, living in his barrel, and Alexander the Great came up to him and said: 'I've heard about your way of life and how you renounce material possessions. I would like to reward you... What would you like? You can have anything, anything at all'. The guy who lived in a barrel said: 'Can you move please, you are blocking my sun'.
