Actually there are several types of protien powder. The two protien powders
I have are whey powder and casein powder. So technically, casein powder is used like whey powder but contains no whey but accomplishes the same result. One is just slower acting than the other. Some protien powders are the combination of the two. In the future, I will purchase hydrolysate protien powder just to try it out. You can read that article which describes the three protein powders that I have mentioned above and more. There are actually two different type of whey powder, whey concentrate, and whey isolates. This is what confused me. So even though I was technically correct that there are two different types of whey powder, I did not purchase both whey powders which I thought I did. Instead I purchased the two I have mentioned above.

PS By the way, it is difficult to find tasteless protein powders. Also you may be interested in looking up soy protien powder. It is known to boost the metabolism which is good for weight loss. This is at least what that article states.
