I'm hoping to get some thoughts and advice from the community on my situation.... thank you so much.

I've been struggling with pretty serious bipolar disorder for the last 8 years since I graduated from college.... episode after episode of mania and depression, causing me to quit/lose several jobs and generally be miserable. Because I was a really ambitious person who didn't want to believe that the disorder could hold me back, I went to grad school in DC, stayed for a job, then moved to California and bounced from different jobs - never staying in one for more than a year. I was quite unstable but determined.

Now the determination has worn off. I am considering moving back home to where my parents live in Birmingham, Alabama - the largest city in the state so hopefully there will be some opportunities. My family is incredibly supportive and want to help me as much as possible, they always flew to California when I was in crisis to bail me out, but that gets expensive. I am thinking that I will never get my life together if I am so unstable when I am on my own. Maybe with my family nearby and living with them, I will have more of a stable life.

Any thoughts?
