Condolences on the broken foot. I broke mine many years ago. Because I'm so awkward and clumsy, I was given a walker and even had problems with that. I had a cast. My T broke his foot at the same time and he had the boot. He recovered much quicker than I did.
This summer, I was looking at different kinds of mobility aids for a different reason. I ran across some of the other types of crutches.
The SmartCrutch is pretty cool. It's a forearm crutch with a pivoting angle. And it comes in some pretty cool colors.
The Ergobaum is another updated forearm crutch.
And the updated underarm crutches made by millennial medical.
And the knee walker scooter.
The one thing I'd be leery of is the hands-free knee crutch. But I'm really clumsy.
I've seen these different crutches listed on resale sites, like Craigslist and Mercari, if money is a concern.
