Thanks, all of you, dear friends, for the validation of how hard it is to follow assembly instructions! I've contacted the company, Schwinnfitness.com, about the right foot pedal, and I will probably have to buy another one along with the leg to which it attaches. I went out this morning and bought three wrenches to tighten all the fittings, as no tools were included for assembly, and, last night, I had to borrow one wrench from a neighbor! This totally wore me out, and I took off work today!
It is working fine, despite the incorrect attachment of the left foot pedal, which needs replacing, as the threads are obviously wrong, but I forced it in there and it's staying on.
I could have bought a fully assembled one for $100 more at a local store. Maybe I should have done that!
