Welcome! Going to therapy at first is certainly intimidating, so congratulations on taking the first steps toward your recovery/a healthier tomorrow.

If I had one piece of advice to give you, it would be to make sure your therapist is a proper fit. It might take a few sessions to really get a feel for how your relationship with your therapist will be, but you’ll get to a point where you’ll really know if the person isn’t right for you. If you’re feeling like that, trust your guy, and also make that feeling be known to the therapist. They shouldn’t take it personally (it’s their job not to!), and sometimes it takes some shopping around to find the right therapist.
