If I had one piece of advice to give you, it would be to make sure your therapist is a proper fit. It might take a few sessions to really get a feel for how your relationship with your therapist will be, but you’ll get to a point where you’ll really know if the person isn’t right for you. If you’re feeling like that, trust your guy, and also make that feeling be known to the therapist. They shouldn’t take it personally (it’s their job not to!), and sometimes it takes some shopping around to find the right therapist.

This will be my second try. The first one was not a good fit and did some things that were not very professional. It was going no where every visit. The first one was more or less a social worker, I forget his title. This new one is a psychologist. Hope she knows a little more about what she is doing.
This has been a long time coming for me and a big step.
