We normally have a family party on Hogmanay (New Year's Eve) but we are just having nibbles (snacks) and maybe some drink. My Mum is in the hospital has been since 21st Nov she had a stroke so it's weird not having her here and quite upsetting for us all.

On New Year's Day I partake in a tradition in Scotland called The New Year Dook which is I jump into the River which is freezing cold. I do it for charity as do many others. We've been lucky it's never been icy cold but this year I fear it will be. Our temperatures have been as low as -6 oops!

Hogmanay and New Year's we'll be visiting my Mum. Visiting times are 1-8pm so we'll be there twice and going to my Brothers for New Year's Day dinner
