I'm glad you went to get help. Therapy makes you see things from another angle. You will see that life is a cube from which you were close to only one face, in time you will move away and see the other faces.
It's so good when you create intimacy with your therapist to the point of thinking, "Oh, wait until my therapist hears this one"
Therapy is a gift, everyone should do.
But if you feel that things are not going very well with your therapist, you can change as well. Until you find the right one.
