Well, I did a Christmas party thread because I don't have anyone on ignore/block. There are some other people too. I've seen the recurring "Couch" thread in the psychotherapy forum ask its involved posters for a person without blocks to step forward and start the follow-up thread at the appropriate time.

So you could always just ask in open forum or message someone you know has no blocks. But yes, the moderators seem to do it when asked or if they notice a long standing and popular thread at its limit (especially check-in type threads).

I'd be happy to create a thread for you, if you have something you'd like.

I suppose it's good to remind people of that side-effect of the ignore list. I made mention of it when I announced my little party thread.
