I think if you follow what I'm doing you'll automatically eat less calories without counting them. Sugar is a big one. A sugary drink may contain over 10 spoons of sugar. Eating smaller portions is also a good way to drop calories.
In the beginning you'll feel offer a little hungry but just fights this and you'll get used to this. Also, if you get headaches from dropping sugar, taper it off like any drug.
BTW, I dropped to 197 from 200 over the holiday week! My wife cooked very little and we just had one cake. I was afraid I'd gain! This made me smile a bit
