That would really bother me too.

I'm kind of pro estate planning based personal life experience. I have a kickass LGBT/estate planning lawyer, SD, although I think her LGBT specialty stuff matters less now that I am married a la the heteros.

Possible trigger:

I think a responsible T has to recognize how unnecessarily distressing it could be for some clients if their death notification was handled poorly. I found out that my former T was dead when I googled her for an unrelated reason after having exchanged a few emails only months earlier. So I can see where it would be incredibly awful if I had still been her client at the time.
