My last depression was a psychotic depression in the beginning. I didn’t have any manic symptoms so it certainly wasn't mixed but I was definitely psychotic, however “minor” it was. I don’t usually have psychotic depressions, the last one was in May 2014. But it happens.
My husband was diagnosed with psychotic depression. He would get extremely paranoid and accuse me of cheating, accuse my mom of undermining him, accuse his sister of teaming up against him, etc. it was sad and scary to watch. Unfortunately he died at 28 so I don’t know if it would have evolved into a bipolar dx.
