My boyfriend really liked it. Basically its a disaster film. It makes you think its the monster, which there is a monster, but its just.....its too real. The monster didn't bother me, it was the fact that the whole movie is shot from a handheld camera, so you're "with" the people as they're trying to survive this disaster. The fact that its based in NYC I think is what got to me. We've seen real tragedy there, so to see a movie where there's more tragedy there was tough. There's a military presence and usually I like military stuff but this was all just too real, in light of current and recent events. All I could think about were people who were there during the tragedy irl, or anyone else with any kind of ptsd. I think thats why it got to me so bad, I didn't expect it to feel so real. Movies are usually just movies to me. Your hubby and son might enjoy it. I can't say it was a bad movie, it just hit me in a way I didn't enjoy.
