I have mild bulk sausage and I just mix it up with bread crumbs, etc. like I would ground beef (which one can use instead) like I would for meatloaf. Then I just stick it in (

technical term "stick it in") the cleaned out squash halves after cutting a little slice off the "bottom" of each half to make them flat so they won't fall over in the pan. Little water in the pan and maybe a temporary aluminum foil tent and roast away? I don't know; it's a make it up as you go along thing and I haven't made it in years LOL.
