I have a fear of sleeping alone. The main reason is due to me being hearing impaired so anything could happen and I would have no idea about it. The biggest worry is someone breaking into the house without me knowing it and trying to do some harm. I like being home alone but when it comes to sleeping alone, I dread it. If I know that someone will be returning home sometime, I will wait fir them to return, even if it means waiting until midnight. But when I am going to be spending the night alone, I have no other choice.

Since I am a male, most people find this to be a weird fear to have, but it is something I deal with. Same with walking outside in the dark alone. I am always on guard and ready for someone to try to hurt me in some way. Anyone else have a fear of sleeping alone? It used to be worse for me where I had the fear even when others were around, but that has gone away. Although I do still have the TV turned on with the volume silent though. When I am alone, I will have all the lights on, repeatedly make sure the doors are locked, and even lock my own bedroom door as well as keep my dog in the room with me. Anyone else have this issue for various reason? Just wondered.
