Do you touch stuff at the therapist's office? I never did. I never even moved pillows on the woman's horrible couch or the clock for clients on the table and I took in my own handkerchief on the extremely off chance that I might need it.
For me, doing so would have demonstrated a level of informality that I did not want to encourage.
