My oh my. That pill is big. I take a slightly smaller pill each day and I am guilty of sometimes (when rushed or lazy) swallowing it dry. Sometimes it works, and sometimes I get this bitter taste and burning in my throat. I actually know someone who swallowed a pill dry and ended up with a burnt esophagus and could not eat for days.

In your case, I would say that you need to swallow it with copious amounts of water. Glug glug glug.
