We had a standing appointment with marriage counselor at 2 p.m. Mondays. In retrospect, that was probably a bad choice of days, since H and I were often tired--H often seemed like he just wanted to curl up on the couch and go to sleep instead of talk. Plus it's in that post-lunch time frame where I think most people naturally have a bit of an energy dip. Though we've gone earlier on some days that we had to reschedule--one recently was at 9 a.m. I'm not a morning person and felt like I couldn't think or speak clearly in that session (even though MC said I was doing fine). I wouldn't want morning sessions for that reason. Well, before 11 anyway--I feel like my brain really kicks into gear around 10:30 or 11 a.m.

With T, we don't have a set appointment time, but it's usually 1:30 or 2:30 or Tuesday or Wednesday, which I think is a pretty good time for me. Once I saw him for an emergency session on a Sunday morning at 10:30 and it was like he wouldn't stop talking--seemed like a different person. (I wanted to be like, "Uh, could I say something please?") Maybe he'd had too much coffee or something? So not sure I'd want to see him in the morning again really...though that time may have been a fluke. He seems very attentive in the afternoons, so I think I'll stick with that if possible!
