Way back in early November, a pipe or something burst in the master bath of the house and caused the whole carpet in there to be damaged, and smelly. So Dad tore out the carpet, and went to Lowe's to hire a contractor and such to finally take advantage of the situation and give the master bath a much needed remodel.

After consulting and ordering the stuff needed for the remodel, the stuff (tile, grout, shower fixtures etc.) was all delivered, and put in the garage. We were then told that it wouldn't be possible to start renovations until 2018. So we were stuck with the stuff in the garage, where Dad could have parked his car, for a month and a half.

Then, what we were told would be a few days of work has now turned into 4 days, and counting. Also, it turns out that the company who built the house didn't properly seal the waterline going to the tub in the master bath (which explained the leak causing water damage to the ceiling below the tub) so when the workers were finagling it to get it out of the way, it came apart and flooded more of the floor/ceiling, causing more damage.

Good news is that now Lowe's will fix the ceiling for free, which Dad was going to initially pay to get done because of the initial leak, and then the water damage leading to the renovations in the first place.

So, on top of having no master bath, we also don't have access to the two rooms below the master suite, AND the dining room where we stuffed all the furniture in said two rooms to get them out of the way for the workers to be able to work.

Long story short? Don't hire Lowe's to do renovations. Granted the second wave of water damage wasn't their fault, that sort of thing happens, but it's still aggravating none the less.
