Angie:

I know EXACTLY what you're talking about. We are caregivers to my disabled brother in law and he has a brain injury and gets very combative without his cigarettes (he also smoked 4 packs a day EEK) but we just started doing like you guys did and give him one every hour then cut it down to ever two hours instead of letting him have a whole pack. I really think it needs to be discussed with her doctor. Is there any way that she would give permission for you or someone else to go with her and help her tell the doctors what's going on . I had to do that with my Mother because the doctor wanted to know exactly how she acted, reacted, etc. and she couldn't tell them, know what I mean?

Anyway, we just told my brother in law's doc about it and she said his mind needed to be taken off of it and given something constructive to do. Perhaps if nothing else, you guys could watch and see what she likes and perhaps give her a drawing pad and pencils and have her draw or write a journal or just something to keep her mind off the smoking.

I have much sympathy for you dear it can be very frustrating dealing with someone in that situation. You're really just trying to help them and it seems all you get is flack. (((((((((Angie)))))))) big supportive hugs, you are so good to everyone around you, always so caring and concerned.

Many blessings dear ones,
Kimberly.
