Zantac works for me, although I don’t get heartburn from meds. There are a lot of good OTC meds on the market for reflux, and most of them can be taken for the long term. Zantac and Pepcid come to mind, although I know there are several others. Doctors like to prescribe Protonics, and I know there’s a generic for that. Might want to check about interactions, but one of those should do the trick.
PS. I hate meds for their side effects as well. Wish I could chuck my whole list into the East river.
