I've chosen to do this:
1. Logged into my new/current insurance web site. Assigned a PCP, because for some reason my insurance didn't do that before when I told it to. I chose my GOOD one from before, even though he's 7 times as far away. He's also an internal medicine specialist.
2. Called them. They're snow closed today, but other locations for same group are open.
3. Left voicemail that seemed distressed.
4. They'll call back early in AM and get me in within a day or two. If he thinks there's a problem, I'll be seen wherever he wants immediately. I've never waited more than 48 on something he thought urgent. Usually it was same day.
