Oh, I can relate. My house could replace the one in the movie "money Pit". My first winter on my farm I kept finding water in the basement & NO Idea where it was coming from. Thought maybe melting snow in my deck but not logical either. It wasnt until that spring I looked at the kitchen ceiling above my refrig & under my master shower I saw it covered in black mold. I had the policy that came with the house purchase....how useless. They came in to fix the problem. There was 100 deductible. Turned out my master shower drain became unsealed & leaked. It cost $101 to replace the drain seal. But it wiyldnt coved the water damage or the hole they had to make in the ceiling to get to the pipe. I had no money to pay for more that the $100 pipe repair. I got a whole whopping $1 check from the homebuyers insurance. What a joke. The hole is still in the ceiling 10 years later becauss I have never had the money to repair it.

I did finally get my roof replaced after having a waterfall in my frontroom bay window duribg hard rains. Insurance covered the roof but I had to pay for upgraded quality & ALL the water damaged wood under the old roofing....& then 2 new really nice skylights when the old plastic ones shatteted when the roofers were removing them to do the roofing.

Had to borrow on a life insurance policy becauss my not yet ex had messed up my credit letting the house we jointly own go into foreclosure so I couldnt get a home equity loan on my own fully paid for farm....so limited the work to ONLY what was necessary.

Fixing homes is a total nightmare. I can truly feel for what you are going through
