I have been with my T for 2 years and we have doing CBT, which has not been successful. Over the past 2 years, my anxiety has reached astronomical heights and I am at a level of great dysfunction. I suffer from GAD, OCD, PTSD and depression.
Recently, my T suggested DBT therapy. He said I would be seeing a DBT therapist once a week and going to a DBT skills group for an hour once a week. He said such treatments are 7 months to a year. That's pretty much all the information he had.
Has anyone been through DBT or is in DBT? What is it like? It's listed as a treatment for BPD, but does it work for severe anxiety disorders? Has it helped you?
