I can't get my prescribed meds, I've made numerous calls but I don't have $533 not even when I get my paycheck. I tried to reduce the amount of meds but they want over 300 for 10. They advised calling my psychiatrist, so I have. I'm panicking about this. I won't be able to work, I won't be able to afford anything. And I can see my therapist until next week despite being on a cancellation list. What good is therapy if you can't even be seen by the therapist? I had a good one elsewhere, but this dbt required me to quit that one and come to this one. The other one I could see regularly. Now I"m just screwed at every angel.
here in NY its the same problem, this happened here due to president obama's law that all americans must have health insurance. with so many people now with health insurance and able to get therapy and so on, its caused a back log where it can sometimes take weeks to schedule. As a result many places here offer auto schedule where clients can opt for the mental health agencies automatically scheduling so many sessions ahead of time. some insurance companies allow as many as 5 scheduled sessions ahead and others offer as little as 2 or three.

my suggestion is contact your mental health agency and see if you can get on their auto scheduling list. it may take some time (example the first one may end up being scheduled a month or so from the date you call to schedule but all other scheduled appointments will be what ever schedule your treatment provider and you decide on. example with me my insurance company allows 2 sessions scheduling at the same time so it took a bit of time for that first session but the second was on the schedule a week after the first. after I attended the first session another session out beyond the second one was scheduled and so on so that I am always seeing my treatment provider weekly by always having two sessions already on the schedule books.
Thanks for this!
