I was seeing a T for a year -, one day, shortly after session, she emailed and said she felt mistreated in the session. It was horrible and to me came out of no where. I replied to this and never heard back. 5 weeks of silence later I emailed again to find out what was happening and she replied saying therapy was over.
I felt it was a terrible way to end therapy and filed a complaint. I was so utterly confused by both emails and she refused a conversation with me. In reply to the complaint she pulled out all the emails I sent to "prove" I knew I was challenging.
Today I got word that my complaint was upheld and she would be cautioned, as well my complaint would go on file so in future it could be used.
I feel like crying with relief, among the findings they said they could not reach the same conclusions she had and that even IF challenging I was still entitled to a decent therapy ending.
They also concluded that as she had known I had a difficult time in therapy this was proof that she knew my vulnerabilities and all the more reason to terminate ethically.
I feel like she tried to prove I was the unstable client and she the professional and she may have believed (as did I) that they would agree with her. The fact they didn't is miraculous.
