Highway patrol closed the road that had black ice. Lots of folks down here are northern transplants, but most folks would not know how to deal with it.
My poor plants in the yard are suffering from the cold. I brought the ones in pots in the house before it got cold. Covered the tender ones planted in the ground. Wind blew some of the covers of. Poor plants got nipped. I'm hoping they come back from the roots in the spring.
Yeah, the chickens were funny. They'd peck at the solid water and look at me as if saying WTF?!?!?! The cats have enjoyed to cold weather. None of them go outside and they are weenies about the cold. I have an heated mattress pad on my bed. The whole joined me at night. I turn the pad on to warm up the bed before I crawl in. A couple would take over the bed before I even got there. I should get a picture of BG (dog) wearing his down vest. The poor guy is short haired and doesn't have a spare ounce of fat on him. He really struggles with the cold. I have a fleece blanket and a down vest for him when it's cold. He is quite handsome in his vest!
