I have a friend that would be a great example of this and has a truly amazing redemption and salvation story that would certainly translate to film so painfully beautifully, but I don't have permission to share or write that story. It truly would be awesome, because this friend is awesome and has been through everything, even and especially the unimaginable.
I think I'll make a pitch to him. Of course 50/50 split, if anything comes of it. I'll need to do it in person though. Over the internet or phone wouldn't be ok with me. Bit of a drive. But, needs to be done I think. It would be an honor to write it, regardless of anyone else's opinions.
